Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth (born Charles Otto Puth Jr.) is a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and producer. Puth spent his early days in Rumson, New Jersey, and was raised the oldest of three children. His mother, a music teacher, began teaching him piano at age 4, and he developed perfect pitch early on. He studied jazz piano at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College and later graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in music production and engineering.

Puth began uploading song covers and original music to YouTube while still in college, which helped him build a following. His breakthrough came in 2015 after collaborating with Wiz Khalifa for the song “See You Again,” which was featured in the film Furious 7. The collaboration spent a total 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, launching him into mainstream stardom.

The singer went on to release a number of commercially successful albums, including Nine Track Mind (2016), Voicenotes (2018) and Charlie (2022). Over the years, he’s penned multiple Billboard charting hits, including “Attention” and has collaborated with artists like Selena Gomez, Kehlani and Jung Kook of BTS.

Puth began dating Brooke Sansone in 2022. The couple got engaged in September 2023 and tied the knot exactly one year later. Puth announced the pair were expecting their first child in October 2025.
