Hailee Steinfeld
Hailee Steinfeld‘s path to stardom began when she saw the performance of a family friend in a school play, which inspired then-8-year-old Steinfeld to start acting. Before she could pursue a professional career, Steinfeld’s mother made her study the craft for one year before signing with an agent.
At the age of 13, Steinfeld rose above 15,000 other girls to win the role of Mattie Ross in the Coen Brothers’ remake of True Grit. The star held her own against acting heavyweights Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, receiving both Oscar and SAG Award nominations in the supporting actress categories in 2011.
After the success of her first movie, Steinfeld scored a slew of memorable films including a big screen Romeo and Juliet adaptation in 2013, followed by Begin Again opposite Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley later that year. She scored praise for her leading roles in 2017’s Edge of Seventeen and 2018’s Bumblebee, part of the Transformers franchise.
The California native became an executive producer for the first time with Apple TV+’s Dickinson, which aired for three seasons. The fictionalized version of the life of poet Emily Dickinson (played by Steinfeld) won a Peabody Award in 2019.
Steinfeld joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe when she played Kate Bishop in Disney+’s six-episode Hawkeye series in 2021. She also voices Ghost Spider/Gwen Stacey in Sony’s animated franchise Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
The “Starving” singer launched her music career in 2015 when she appeared in Pitch Perfect 2 as a member of a college a capella group and released her first EP, Haiz, which included the hit song “Love Myself.” She followed up the release with several megahit singles — including “Most Girls” and “Let Me Go” (with Alesso, Florida Georgia Line and Watt) — and her 2020 EP, Half-Written Story.
Her song “Wrong Direction” is rumored to be about her relationship with One Direction‘s Niall Horan, who she dated from 2017 to 2018. Prior to her relationship with the Ireland native, she dated social media influencer Cameron Smoller from 2016 to 2017.
Steinfeld began dating Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in May 2023. The pair announced their engagement in November 2024. They wed in May 2025. Steinfeld gave birth to their first baby, a daughter, in March 2026.
