Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein was born March 19th, 1952 in Queens, New York. He started a concert promotion business with his brother in the 1970s and used funds from the business to start Mirimax, an independent film distribution company.

Mirimax’s breakout production was The Crying Game, and was soon followed by blockbusters and critical hits Pulp Fiction, The English Patient, Good Will Hunting, and Shakespeare in Love. Harvey and his brother left Mirimax in 2005 to start The Weinstein Company, which also went on to produce many hit films.

Weinstein is best known for being a sexual predator. He was at the center of the #MeToo campaign, and was accused of harassment, abuse, and rape. In February of 2020, he was found guilty of rape and sexual assault charges and sentenced to 23 years in prison. In October of 2022, he was found guilty of further rape and sexual misconduct charges and sentences to an additional 16 years in prison.

The disgraced producer was married to Eve Chilton from 1987 to 2004, then to English fashion designer Georgina Chapman from 2007 to 2017. He has three daughters from his first marriage, and a son and a daughter from his second.
