Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage (born Nicolas Kim Coppola) is an Oscar-winning actor and nephew to legendary director Francis Ford Coppola. Cage first fell in love with acting in high school and dropped out at 16 to pursue it full time. After landing his first big screen role in 1982, the actor changed his last name to Cage, wanting to build a career off of merit rather than be associated with his famous uncle.

Following his first Hollywood role, the actor’s big break came with his appearance in the 1987 rom-com Moonstruck. He earned his first Golden Globe nomination with this performance.

As an industry veteran, Cage is known for fully immersing himself in his roles. He earned his first Oscar for Best Actor with his performance in Leaving Las Vegas (1995) and received the same nomination for 2003’s Adaptation. Some of his other notable films include Kick-Ass (2010), Matchstick Men (2003) and the Ghost Rider franchise (2007-2011). Cage has lent his voice to a number of animated projects, including The Croods (2013) and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse (2018). He owns the production company Saturn Films.

Cage starred in the 2024 thriller Longlegs and appeared as Ben in the sharpshooter action film Gunslingers in 2025.

In 1988, Cage began dating Christina Fulton. The two welcomed son Weston Coppola Cage in 1990, shortly before the couple broke up. He was married to actress Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001.

In 2002, Cage wed Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley’s daughter. The two finalized their divorce in 2004. He was then married to Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016. The pair share a son, Kal-El (born in 2005). Cage wed Erika Koike in 2019; the pair split the same year.

Cage married actress Riko Shibata in 2021. Their daughter, August (named after Cage’s late father), was born in 2022.
