Chevy Chase

Chevy Chase began his acting career in comedy with writing for the Smothers Brothers and National Lampoon. He gained national recognition as a key cast member in the inaugural 1975 season of Saturday Night Live, where his comedic talent specifically in the Weekend Update segment became a signature element of the show.

Transitioning into film, Chase starred in several successful comedies including, Caddyshack (1980), National Lampoon’s Vacation series (1983-2015) and Fletch (1985). In the 2000s, Chase returned to television, notably portraying Pierce Hawthrone in the sitcom Community from 2009 to 2014.

It was for his role in SNL that Chase won three Primetime Emmy Awards and later received two Golden Globe nominations for his roles in Foul Play (1978) and Seems Like Old Times (1980).

In 1973, Chase married Susan Hewitt, which ended in divorce. Their split was finalized in 1976, and her married Jacqueline Carlin later that year. The couple divorced in 1980. He married Jayni Luke in June 1982, and they share three daughters: Cydney (born January 1983), Caley (born January 1985) and Emily (born September 1988).

In August 2024, Chase became a grandfather when his daughter Emily welcomed her first child, a daughter named Ivy Jay Baglieri.
