
Connie Britton
Connie Britton was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts She attended college at Dartmouth University where she majored in Asian studies with a concentration in Chinese.
After she graduated in 1989, Britton moved to New York and studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse and starred in the show, The Early Girl at The Courtyard Playhouse. In 1995 made her film debut in a comedy-drama called The Brothers McMullen.
She was in a number of films and TV shows in the years following, some notable names being Spin City and 24 but became a star for her role as Tami Taylor alongside Kyle Chandler in NBC’s short-lived but beloved Friday Night Lights. She was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Following Friday Night Lights, Britton was cast as Vivien Harmon in FX’s horror drama, American Horror Story. From that, the actress was nominated for her second Emmy (she was nominated four times, in total). Currently she stars in the ABC musical drama series, Nashville, which has kicked off her music career.
The actress was married to John Britton, a man she met at Dartmouth, from 1991 to 1995. In November 2011, Britton adopted a son, Eyob “Yoby” from Ethiopia. Britton has been in a relationship with producer David Windsor since 2020.
