Dave Coulier is an actor and comedian best known for his role as Joey Gladstone on the sitcom Full House. He was born in Detroit, where he graduated from Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, Michigan, in 1977 and played varsity ice hockey. He briefly attended the University of Michigan but later dropped out to pursue a career in comedy.

Coulier began his career in stand-up at age 19 after moving to Los Angeles and performing at The Comedy Store alongside prominent comics. He gained early voice-acting work and hosted the Nickelodeon series Out of Control from 1984 to 1985. His big break came in 1987 when he was cast as Joey on Full House, a role that made him a household name. He starred on the show until its 1995 end.

Outside of Full House, Coulier has lent his voice to Peter Venkman on the animated series The Real Ghostbusters and Animal and Bunsen Honeydew on Muppet Babies. He reprised his role as Joey on the Netflix sequel Fuller House from 2016 to 2020.

Coulier was married to model and actress Jayne Modean from 1990 to 1992, and the couple welcomed son Luc in 1990. He later briefly dated singer Alanis Morissette. In 2014, he married photographer and producer Melissa Bring after dating for nine years.

In 2024, he revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
