
Dominic Monaghan
Dominic Monaghan is a British actor best known for his roles in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy and on the ABC drama Lost. Born in Germany and raised in Manchester, England, Monaghan attended St Anne’s Roman Catholic High School. He later studied English literature, drama and geography at Aquinas College in Stockport.
Monaghan began his career on British television, gaining attention for his role as Geoffrey on the series Hetty Wainthropp Investigates in the late ’90s. His breakout came in 2001 when he was cast as Merry Brandybuck in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
He continued to build his career with a main role as Charlie Pace on Lost from 2004 to 2007. The ensemble cast earned a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2006. His other notable appearances include X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Flashforward, Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan and the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
Monaghan was in a high-profile relationship with his Lost costar Evangeline Lilly from 2004 to 2007.
