
Farrah Fawcett
Farrah Fawcett was an American actress and model best known for her role as Jill Munroe on Charlie’s Angels. Fawcett attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied microbiology, later switching to art. She left college in her junior year to move to Los Angeles and pursue modeling and acting.
Fawcett began her career appearing in commercials and small TV roles before landing a recurring part on The Six Million Dollar Man alongside then-husband Lee Majors. Her breakout came in 1976 when she was cast on ABC’s Charlie’s Angels, a role that made her a household name.
She went on to earn critical acclaim for her performance on The Burning Bed (1984), which earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series. She later earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in Extremities (1986). Some of her notable film credits include Logan’s Run (1976), Saturn 3 (1980) and The Apostle (1997).
Fawcett was married to Lee Majors from 1973 to 1982. She was later in a long-term relationship with actor Ryan O’Neal, with whom she welcomed son Redmond O’Neal in 1985. The pair split in 1997, but later rekindled their relationship in 2001.
Fawcett died on June 25, 2009, after a battle with cancer.
