
Fred Savage
Fred Savage is an actor, director and producer best known for his role on the ABC series The Wonder Years. Fred was born and raised in Chicago alongside his younger brother, actor Ben Savage. He began acting as a child before attending Stanford University, where he graduated in 1999 with a degree in English.
Fred’s breakout role came in 1988 when he was cast as Kevin Arnold on The Wonder Years, which ran until 1993. The show earned him multiple award nominations, including two Golden Globes and two Emmys, making him one of the youngest actors ever nominated. Some of his early film appearances include The Princess Bride (1987), Vice Versa (1988), Little Monsters and The Wizard (1989).
He later shifted his focus to directing and producing, working on series including It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Modern Family, 2 Broke Girls, Party Down and Black-ish. He also cocreated and executive produced Friends with Benefits and the 2021 reboot of The Wonder Years.
In 2022, Fred was removed from the reboot following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct on set. He denied the allegations.
Fred married Jennifer Lynn Stone, a childhood friend, in 2004. The couple has three children: Oliver (born in 2006), Lily (born in 2008) and Auggie (born in 2012).
