
Iman Shumpert
Iman Shumpert is a professional basketball player, rapper and reality TV personality. Shumpert was raised in Chicago and began playing basketball as a child. He was recruited to play basketball at Georgia Tech, where he was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team before declaring for the NBA draft in 2011.
Shumpert was selected 17th overall by the New York Knicks in the 2011 NBA Draft. Known for his defensive skills, he played with the Knicks until 2015 before being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he won the NBA Championship in 2016 alongside LeBron James. He later played for the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets.
Outside of basketball, the athlete has pursued music and released his debut mixtape Th3 #Post90s in 2012. He gained further attention when he joined season 30 of Dancing With the Stars and became the first former NBA player to win the competition with dance partner Daniella Karagach. He has also acted and has been featured on shows such as Twenties, Them and The Chi.
The multihyphenate tied the knot with singer Teyana Taylor in 2016. The couple share daughters Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. (born in 2015) and Rue Rose (born in 2020). In 2023, Taylor announced that the pair separated after quietly living apart for some time.
