Jonathan Taylor Thomas was born in Pennsylvania and at 6 years old he voiced his first TV character, Spot, on The Adventures of Spot. He made his on-camera TV debut playing Kevin Brady on The Bradys in 1990.

The following year, he landed the role of middle son Randy Taylor on Home Improvement alongside Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson. The series lasted eight seasons and made Thomas a household name and a heartthrob among his tween and teen fans.

While on Home Improvement, Thomas also voiced young Simba in 1994’s The Lion King, starred in 1995’s Man of the House and Tom and Huck the same year as well as 1997’s Wild America and 1998’s I’ll Be Home for Christmas.

Thomas took a break from acting to attend Harvard in the late ‘90s, studying philosophy and history. He returned to TV in the early 2000s with cameos on Ally McBeal, Smallville and more. The actor once again took a hiatus from Hollywood to pursue higher education, graduating from Columbia University in 2010.

In 2013, Thomas reunited with Allen for several episodes of Last Man Standing. He also directed three episodes of the sitcom from 2013 to 2016. Thomas has since walked away from the industry.
