About

Keith Urban is a Grammy-winning country music singer, songwriter and guitarist. Born in Whangarei, New Zealand, and raised in Australia, Urban began playing guitar at a young age. He went on to appear on Australian television talent shows in his teens and later moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in country music.

Urban released his self-titled U.S. debut album in 1999, which included the No. 1 hit “But for the Grace of God.” His breakthrough came with the 2002 album Golden Road, followed by Be Here in 2004. Known for blending country with pop and rock influences, Urban has been awarded four Grammys throughout his career, including the Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal Performance. He has also been awarded multiple CMA and ACM awards and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2012.

Urban served as a judge on American Idol from 2012 to 2016. Some of his other works include Ripcord (2016), Graffiti U (2018) and The Speed of Now Part 1 (2020).

Urban tied the knot with actress Nicole Kidman in June 2006. The couple share daughters Sunday Rose (born in 2008) and Faith Margaret (born in 2010). In September 2025, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that the pair split after almost 20 years together.
