Sam Hunt

Sam Hunt is a country singer and songwriter known for blending country with pop and R&B. Born in Cedartown, Georgia, in 1984, Hunt was raised in a small-town family and was a standout football player. He attended Middle Tennessee State University before transferring to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he played quarterback. After college, he moved to Nashville to pursue music full-time.

Hunt began his career writing songs for artists including Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and Billy Currington. He released his debut album, Montevallo, in 2014, which produced multiple chart-topping singles and earned him two Grammy nominations, including a nod for Best New Artist. In 2017, he released the single “Body Like a Backroad,” which dominated pop radio and earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song.

Hunt went on to tour with Luke Bryan, and in 2020, he released his sophomore album, Southside. He later embarked on a headlining tour, Summer on the Outskirts, in 2023.

Hunt married Hannah Lee Fowler in 2017. The couple share daughter Lucy (born in 2022) and sons Lowry (born in 2023) and Weyman (born in 2025).
