About

Wynonna Judd (born Christina Claire Ciminella) is a singer and member of the country duo The Judds. As a teenager, her mother, Naomi Judd, moved her family to Tennessee so they could pursue a career in music. In true popstar fashion, Wynonna adopted her name from the song “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66.”

Judd formed mother-daughter duo The Judds and landed a record deal with RCA in 1983. Their career lasted for nearly eight years, and the two had an incredibly successful run — earning Grammy nominations and Billboard awards — before Naomi retired and Wynonna embarked on her solo career.

Her solo debut was incredibly well received, and the single “She Is His Only Need” from her debut album hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Country charts the year of its release. To date, Wynonna has earned countless nominations and awards for her contributions to country music, earning her a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame as a member of The Judds.

In 1994, Wynonna welcomed her first child, Elijah, with ex-husband Arch Kelley III. The twosome married in 1996 and welcomed their daughter, Grace Pauline, the same year. They divorced in 1998.

Wynonna married her former bodyguard D. R. Roach in 2003. She filed for divorce after Roach was arrested for sexual assault in 2007.

In 2012 Judd married drummer Scott “Cactus” Moser. In 2024, she began raising her granddaughter after Grace Pauline was arrested.
