About

Kurt Russell is an Emmy-nominated actor. Born in Massachusetts, Russell spent most of his childhood in California with his parents and three sisters. The actor got an early start in Hollywood, first playing small roles in a number of films before his breakout role as the titular character in 1963’s The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters.

Russell went on to sign a 10-year contract with Disney, and he grew to be one of the studio’s most popular actors in the 70s. In 1979, he starred in the movie Elvis, which earned his first Emmy nomination. The actor also followed in his father’s footsteps and had a brief stint in minor league baseball in the early 1970s before continuing to pursue acting.

Some of his most notable projects include Escape from New York, Miracle and Silkwood, which earned him a 1983 Golden Globe nomination. He has enjoyed success in action franchises, such as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and the Monsterverse’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (in which he starred opposite son Wyatt Russell).

In 1979, Russell married Elvis costar Season Hubley. A year later, Hubley gave birth to their son, Boston, and the couple split ways in 1983. That same year, Russell met Goldie Hawn, and the two have remained together ever since, welcoming their son Wyatt in 1986. Russell is a father figure to both of Hawn’s children from her prior marriage, Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson.
