Laura Leighton

Laura Leighton is an actress best known for her roles on the primetime dramas Melrose Place and Pretty Little Liars. Leighton was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa. She developed an interest in acting at a young age and attended West High School, pursuing acting full time after graduating.

Leighton began her career in the early 1990s with small roles in TV movies like The Other Woman (1995). Her breakout came in 1993 when she was cast as Sydney Andrews on Melrose Place. Her character quickly became a fan favorite, and Leighton’s performance earned widespread attention, turning her into one of the show’s most recognizable stars. She remained on the series through its original run and later returned for its 2009 revival.

Following Melrose Place, Leighton continued working steadily in television and film. She appeared in projects such as Beverly Hills, 90210 and Eyes and later gained a new generation of fans playing Ashley Marin on Pretty Little Liars. Some of her later appearances include Dynasty and Fantasy Island.

Leighton married Doug Savant in 1998. The couple share two children: son Jack Douglas Savant and daughter Lucy Jane Leighton Savant.
