
Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X (born Montero Lamar Hill) is a Grammy-winning rapper, singer and songwriter. He was raised in Georgia and enrolled at the University of West Georgia, working part time to support himself before dropping out to pursue music.
The rapper gained attention in 2018 by posting comedy videos and promoting his music on social media. In 2019, he independently released “Old Town Road,” which gained viral traction on TikTok. After a remix with Billy Ray Cyrus, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 for a record-breaking 19 weeks. He signed with Columbia Records in 2019, and in 2020, he was awarded the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video.
He released his debut EP 7 in 2019 and followed it with his first full-length album Montero in 2021, featuring hits like “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” and “Industry Baby” featuring Jack Harlow. The following year, he embarked on his Long Live Montero Tour, throughout which he performed unreleased songs set to be a part of his 2025 release DREAMBOY.
The singer has also authored a children’s book titled C Is for Country (2021).
The Grammy winner came out as gay in 2019 and is an active advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
