About

Marlon Jackson (born March 12 1957) is an American singer, dancer and entertainer best known as a member of The Jackson 5. He was born in Gary, Indiana, and is one of the younger children in the Jackson family. Marlon briefly attended California Prep in Encino, California, after the family relocated to Los Angeles, where he graduated in 1975.

Marlon joined brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Michael Jackson in The Jackson 5 during the late 1960s. Signed by Motown Records, the group became a worldwide success with hits including “I Want You Back,” “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” and “ABC.” After leaving the famous label in 1975, the brothers continued as The Jacksons under Epic Records, touring internationally. They later starred together in the variety series The Jacksons, which ran on CBS from 1976 to 1977.

Outside the group, Marlon has pursued a solo career. He released his album Baby Tonight in 1987, featuring the singles “Baby Tonight” and “Don’t Go.” He also took part in the docudrama The Jacksons: An American Dream and later focused on business and philanthropic projects, including involvement with the Motherland Group and the Major Broadcasting Cable Network. Marlon was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of The Jackson 5.

Marlon tied the knot with Carol Ann Parker in 1975 after meeting her on tour. They have three children: Valencia Caroline (born in 1976), Brittany Shauntee (born in 1978) and Marlon David Jr. (born in 1981). He has six grandchildren.
