Matthew Koma, who was born Matthew Bair, is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter who began his career in the punk rock scene before venturing into other genres like pop and EDM. After being signed to Interscope Records by record producer Jimmy Iovine, Koma released his first EP, Parachute, in 2012. He is known for cowriting Zedd’s hit songs “Clarity” and “Spectrum,” earning a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for “Clarity.”

Koma is the lead singer of the indie band Winnetka Bowling League, along with his collaborations with other artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Bruce Springsteen and Tiësto.

Koma is married to actress and singer Hilary Duff. The couple met during the production of Duff’s 2015 album Breathe In. Breathe Out., which Koma cowrote and produced. They began dating in 2017 and tied the knot in December 2019. Together, they have welcomed three daughters, Banks Violet (born October 2018), Mae James (born March 2021) and Townes Meadow (born May 2024).

Koma is also stepfather to Duff’s son, Luca, from her previous marriage to hockey player Mike Comrie.
