Oscar Isaac

Oscar Isaac (born Óscar Isaac Hernández Estrada) is a Golden Globe-winning actor known for his work in acclaimed films and major franchises including Star Wars and Dune. Isaac was in Guatemala City and raised in Miami. He developed an early interest in music and acting and later attended Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied drama and graduated in 2005, building a foundation in classical theater.

He began his career with small film roles and stage work before gaining wider attention in Body of Lies (2008) and Drive (2011). Isaac’s breakthrough came in 2013, when he starred as a struggling folk singer in Inside Llewyn Davis, a performance that earned Isaac critical acclaim and established him as a leading man.

Isaac went on to star as Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy and later appeared in high-profile projects such as Ex Machina (2014), A Most Violent Year (2014), Annihilation (3018) and Dune (2021). His performance in the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film. Some of his later projects include Moon Knight, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) and Frankenstein (2025).

Isaac began dating Danish filmmaker Elvira Lind in the mid-2010s, and the couple married in 2017. They share two sons, Eugene (born in 2017) and Mads (born in 2019).
