
Richard Hatch
Richard Hatch is a television personality known for becoming the first winner of Survivor in 2000. He later competed on Survivor: All-Stars, season 4 of The Celebrity Apprentice and season 17 of The Biggest Loser. In 2024, Hatch became a contestant on E!’s House of Villains.
Hatch joined the U.S. Army in 1980 and spent five years as a West Point cadet. He earned a bachelor’s degree in management and applied behavioral sciences from National Louis University and a master’s degree in education and counseling from Providence College in Rhode Island.
In January 2006, Hatch was convicted of tax evasion and related charges, serving 51 months in prison followed by an additional 9 months for failing to amend his 2000 and 2001 tax returns.
After his time in the army, Hatch moved to Manhattan.
