Ross Mathews

Ross Mathews grew up in Washington before moving to California for college. While attending the University of La Verne, Mathews worked as an intern on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. During his tenure, Mathews was known as “Ross the Intern,” which jump started his career in TV. He went on to make appearances on the program on and off from 2006 to 2013.

Mathews was later a contestant on Celebrity Fit Club in 2007 before competing on 1 vs. 100 the following year. He was also a contestant on season 1 of Celebrity Big Brother in 2018 and competed on 25 Words or Less in 2020.

He reunited with Jay Leno in 2009 as a correspondent on The Jay Leno Show. Mathews also served as a creative consultant from 2010 to 2011.

The journalist was part of the Chelsea Lately team from 2007 to 2014. Mathews landed his own series on E! in 2013 called Hello Ross! and hosted several awards shows for the network over the years, including red carpet coverage.

Mathews was a cohost of Hollywood Today Live from 2015 to 2017. He was a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2012 before becoming a full-time judge for season 7 and beyond in 2015. He also served as a producer on RuPaul’s Drag Race from 2022 to 2024 and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars from 2022 to 2023.

He joined The Drew Barrymore Show as a contributor and host Drew Barrymore’s right-hand helper in 2020. Mathews is also a producer on the talk show.

Mathews dated Salvador Camarena for a decade before they called it quits in November 2018. The TV personality moved on with Dr. Wellinthon Garcia in 2020. Mathews proposed to Garcia in February 2021. They tied the knot in May 2022.

Two years later, the couple wrote a book together about their wedding called Tio & Tio: The Ring Bearers, inspired by how seriously their nephews took their roles on the special day. Barrymore wrote the forward for the children’s book.
