Scott Stuber

Scott Stuber is a film producer and entertainment executive known for overseeing major Hollywood movies and leading Netflix’s film division. Stuber was born in Granada Hills, California, in 1968 and attended Chaminade College Preparatory, where he played both basketball and baseball. He later enrolled at the University of Arizona, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in film and television. After college, he began his career at Universal Pictures as a publicity assistant to Lew Wasserman.

Stuber rose through the ranks at Universal, eventually becoming copresident of production and vice chairman of worldwide production. He later founded Bluegrass Films (previously named Stuber Pictures), which produced movies including Ted (2012), Safe House (2012) and Central Intelligence (2016). In 2017, he joined Netflix as its head of film, overseeing the development, production and acquisition of the company’s original movie slate. He left Netflix in 2024 and joined Amazon MGM Studios.

Among the notable films Stuber has produced or overseen are The Kingdom (2007), Marriage Story (2019), Roma (2018), Extraction (2020) and Frankenstein (2025). In 2026, he was nominated for the 2026 Academy Award for Best Picture as a producer of Frankenstein.

Stuber was previously married to actress Rachel Nichols. They wed in July 2008 and divorced the following year. He married model and actress Molly Sims in September 2011. The couple have three children: Brooks (born in 2012), Scarlett (born in 2015) and Grey (born in 2017).
