Skylar Astin

Skylar Astin is an actor and singer best known for his breakout role as Jesse Swanson in the Pitch Perfect film series and his work in television, including Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and So Help Me Todd.

Astin attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University but left before graduating to pursue acting professionally.

His early career took off with his role in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Spring Awakening, where he starred alongside Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff. He transitioned to film with Pitch Perfect in 2012, which became a box office success and catapulted him to mainstream fame. Astin continued to build his career with roles in movies such as 21 & Over and Ghosts of War, as well as television projects like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Ground Floor and Grey’s Anatomy.

His other stage credits include Little Shop of Horrors and Gutenberg! The Musical! In addition to his work onscreen, Astin has showcased his vocal talent with performances on soundtracks and live concerts.

Astin was previously married to Anna Camp, his Pitch Perfect costar, from 2016 to 2019. Astin later began dating actress Lisa Stelly in 2020, but they split in 2021.
