Steve Harvey is an entertainer known for his work as a comedian, television host, actor, author and radio personality. His journey in entertainment began with stand-up comedy in the 1980s. Before breaking into the entertainment world, he worked in various jobs, including as an insurance salesman, auto plant worker and even a mail carrier. His breakthrough came in 1990 when he became a finalist in the Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search. This led to his gig on Showtime at the Apollo, which marked the beginning of his television career.

In the mid-1990s, Harvey starred in the The Steve Harvey Show, a sitcom that ran on The WB from 1996 to 2002. Around the same time he became one of the “Kings of Comedy,” touring alongside Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley and Bernie Mac. The tour was later captured in Spike Lee’s The Original Kings of Comedy.

Harvey’s career later transitioned into hosting several prominent television and radio shows including, Judge Steve Harvey, Steve Harvey (daytime talk show), The Steve Harvey Morning Show and Family Feud. He is also an author, with Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, which was inspired by the 2012 movie Think Like a Man and its sequel.

Harvey has received seven Daytime Emmy Awards for his work as a host, two Marconi Awards and 14 NAACP Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Harvey is married to Marjorie Harvey. The couple got married in 2007 and have a blended family that includes seven children from their previous marriages.
