Steve Kazee

Steve Kazee is a film and Broadway actor. After finishing his undergraduate studies in Kentucky, Kazee moved to New York City to study acting. He graduated with an MFA from New York University in 2005.

The actor made his Broadway debut shortly after graduation as an understudy in Seascape. He went on to accumulate multiple playbills, appearing in Broadway productions such as Spamalot, 110 in the Shade and To Be Or Not To Be.

In 2011, Kazee was cast as Guy in the musical Once. The show was taken to Broadway in early 2012, and the actor found national success with the production. Kazee was awarded the 2012 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his role. The production won the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album the following year. He went on to star in the 2017 Broadway production of Pretty Woman: The Musical.

Kazee has also put his vocal talent to use off-Broadway and was featured on Christina Perri’s song “A Thousand Years Pt. 2” which was featured in The Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn Pt.2 (2012).

The actor has also taken on minor TV roles, including on Working Class and Shameless. He has also appeared in The Walking Dead and Blindspot, and in 2021 landed a minor recurring role on the police drama The Rookie.

Kazee dated actress Megan Hilty from 2005 to 2012. Following their split, Us confirmed his relationship with actress Jenna Dewan in 2018. The twosome got engaged in February 2020, and Dewan gave birth to their son Callum the following month (she previously welcomed daughter Everly with ex Channing Tatum). The couple announced Dewan was expecting her third child in January 2024, and daughter Rhiannon was born the following June.
