Teri Hatcher is an American actress best known for her standout roles on television and in film. Born in Palo Alto, California, Hatcher went on to study mathematics and engineering at De Anza College while training in acting at the American Conservatory Theater.

Hatcher’s early career included time as a member of the San Francisco 49ers cheerleading squad and small television roles in the 1980s. She gained her breakthrough when she was cast as Lois Lane in the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993-1997), which made her a household name.

She later starred on the hit ABC series Desperate Housewives from 2004 to 2012, winning a Golden Globe Award and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. She portrayed Paris Carver in the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. Hatcher has also appeared in Spy Kids (2001) and lent her voice to Coraline (2009).

In her personal life, Hatcher married Marcus Leithold in 1988, but they divorced the following year. She later married actor Jon Tenney in 1994, and they welcomed daughter Emerson Rose in 1997. Hatcher and Tenney divorced in 2003.
