Witney Carson began dancing at the age of three while growing up in American Fork, Utah, roughly 30 miles south of Salt Lake City.

Carson competed on season 9 of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance in 2012, making it to the top six. She returned as an all-star competitor in season 10.

In 2013, Carson became a troupe dancer on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars before joining the show as a full-time professional during season 18 in 2014. 

Carson has appeared on 14 seasons of the dance-competition series, partnered with celebrities like Wayne Brady, Kel Mitchell and Frankie Muniz. During season 19 in 2014, Carson and partner Alfonso Ribiero emerged victorious, marking her first and only mirrorball rrophy. She joined season 33 of DWTS competing with Danny Amendola. They placed fifth in the November 2024 finale. She won her second mirrorball trophy the next year with Robert Irwin.

Carson has been married to husband Carson McAllister since 2016 and the couple share two children together: sons Leo and Jet.
