
Alison Sudol
Alison Sudol is an American actress, singer and songwriter best known for her role as Queenie Goldstein in the Fantastic Beasts film series and for her earlier music career. Sudol was born in Seattle, Washington, to parents who taught dramatic arts and acting. Shortly after her parents’ divorce, she moved to Los Angeles at age 5. She graduated high school at age 16 and began teaching herself piano. She later began pursuing music full-time.
Sudol launched her music career in the mid-2000s under the moniker A Fine Frenzy, signing with Virgin Records. Her debut album, One Cell in the Sea (2007), featured the single “Almost Lover,” which charted internationally. She went on to release the albums Bomb in a Birdcage (2009), Pines (2012) and Still Come the Night (2022).
Sudol later transitioned into acting, landing recurring television roles on CSI: NY and Transparent before her big-screen breakout as Queenie in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 2016. She reprised her role in the film’s 2018 and 2022 sequels.
Sudol is also known for her conservation activism, having served as a goodwill ambassador for the International Union for Conservation of Nature since 2011.
In her personal life, Sudol was publicly linked to actor David Harbour beginning in early 2018, but the two split the following year. She later began dating actor Tom Cullen, and the pair share two daughters.
