Babyface
Babyface (born Kenneth Brian Edmonds) is a singer-songwriter and record producer with 12 Grammy Awards and more than two dozen No. 1 R&B hits throughout his decades-long career.
Nicknamed for his youthful look, Babyface rose to prominence for writing and producing R&B and dance songs throughout the 1980s and 1990s. He cofounded LaFace Records with Antonio “L.A.” Reid in 1989, launching the careers of acts like TLC, Toni Braxton, Outkast, Pink and Usher throughout the next decade.
Babyface has worked with dozens of legendary artists, including Whitney Houston, Madonna, Brandy, Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin, Janet Jackson, Diana Ross, Beyoncé, Céline Dion, Lil Wayne and more. His producing prowess earned him three consecutive Grammy awards for Producer of the Year from 1995 to 1997.
The producer was married to businesswoman Tracey Edmonds from 1992 to 2005, and the pair share sons Brandon (born in 1995) and Dylan (born in 1998). Babyface began dating his backup dancer Nicole “Nikki” Pantenburg in 2007, and the pair welcomed daughter Peyton the following year. They were married from 2014 to 2021, citing “irreconcilable differences” as their reasoning for divorce. He later moved on with model Rika Tischendorf.
