Bella Ramsey

Bella Ramsey (born Isabella May Ramsey) is an Emmy-nominated British actor best known for their roles on Game of Thrones, The Last of Us and in Catherine Called Birdy (2022). Ramsey spent their childhood homeschooled in Nottingham, England and began acting at a young age via local theater groups. They went on to train at the Television Workshop and later began auditioning for screen roles.

After a handful of roles in various short films, Ramsey landed the role of Lyanna Mormont in HBO’s Game of Thrones in 2016, a role that quickly gained attention despite limited screen time. They went on to appear on shows such as The Worst Witch and Shepherd’s Delight.

In 2022, Ramsey played the titular role in the Prime Video film Catherine Called Birdy. The following year, they were cast as Ellie in HBO’s The Last of Us alongside Pedro Pascal. Their performance earned critical acclaim and a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. They have also lent their voice to series such as Hilda, Summer Camp Island and Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (2023).

In 2023, Ramsey announced they identify as nonbinary and use they/them pronouns. They later sparked dating rumors with actress Maisy Stella in September 2024.
