Bill Cosby
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bill Cosby began his career as a stand up comedian before landing a role in NBC’s I Spy. The series, which ran from 1965 to 1968, made him the first Black actor to have a dramatic role on network television. Cosby starred as Cliff Huxtable on The Cosby Show for all eight seasons from 1984 to 1992 and Cosby from 1996 to 2000.
Off camera, Cosby and wife Camille tied the knot in 1964. The couple share daughters Erika, Erinn Chalene, Ensa and Evin Harrah and son Ennis. Ennis and Ensa died in 1997 and 2018, respectively.
In 2015, Cosby was accused of sexual misconduct by more than 60 women. Two years later, his first sexual assault lawsuit ended in a mistrial and he pleaded not guilty. In a 2018 lawsuit, Cosby was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004 and sentenced to three to 10 years in prison. He was also ordered to undergo a lifetime of counseling and appear on a sex offender registry. After serving two years behind bars, Cosby was released when the conviction was overturned.
