James Corden

James Corden is an Emmy-winning actor, comedian and television host best known for hosting The Late Late Show With James Corden and creating the viral “Carpool Karaoke” segment. Born in London, England, Corden was raised in the borough of Hillingdon. He demonstrated an early interest in entertainment and later began to pursue acting work before transitioning to onscreen hosting.

Corden began his career in British television and theater, earning early recognition for his role in the U.K. series Fat Friends. He cocreated and starred in the sitcom Gavin & Stacey, which became a major hit in the U.K. and earned him a BAFTA TV Award. He later won a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his performance in One Man, Two Guvnors (2012) on Broadway. In 2015, he succeeded Craig Ferguson as host of The Late Late Show on CBS, where his “Carpool Karaoke” segment rapidly gained popularity, featuring stars including Adele and Michelle Obama. He remained host of The Late Late Show until 2023.

Corden has also appeared in films including Into the Woods (2014), Cats (2019) and The Prom (2020) and has hosted the Tony Awards multiple times.

Corden tied the knot with Julia Carey in 2012. They share three children: Max (born in 2011), Carey (born in 2014) and Charlotte (born in 2017).
