James Maslow

James Maslow is an actor and singer best known for his role on the hit Nickelodeon series Big Time Rush and as a member of the boy band of the same name. Born in New York City and raised in La Jolla, California, he graduated from the Coronado School of the Arts’ musical theater program in 2007 before booking his breakout role as James Diamond on Big Time Rush two years later.

Big Time Rush, which ran for four seasons from 2009 to 2013, followed a group of four friends as they are scouted to become the next big boy band. The band dropped their debut album the same year as the show’s premiere, going on to release several hit singles and have a successful touring career.

Following his time on Big Time Rush, Maslow pursued a solo music career, releasing his debut album How I Like It in 2017. He also appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2014, where he placed fourth with partner Peta Murgatroyd, and competed on season 1 of the U.S. version of Celebrity Big Brother in 2018.

Maslow has continued to act, with roles in TV shows and films such as See Dad Run, Sequestered, Art Show Bingo, Stars Fell on Alabama, iCarly and Holiday Twist.

Maslow was romantically linked to stars such Halston Sage and Gabriela Lopez over the years before he began dating Caitlin Spears in 2019. He popped the question in May 2025.
