Joey Lawrence

Joey Lawrence is an actor and television personality who started his career as a child actor, appearing in commercials and TV shows. His big break came in the 1980s with the sitcom Gimme a Break! as Joey Donovan. He later gained more recognition for his roles in Blossom, as Joey Russo and Melissa & Joey as Joey Longo.

Aside from acting, Lawrence has pursued a music career, releasing a self-titled album in 1993 that featured the hit single “Nothin’ My Love Can’t Fix.” He has also ventured into reality television competing on Dancing With the Stars in 2006, finishing in third place.

Lawrence’s first marriage was to Michelle Vella from 2002 to 2005.
After ending his divorce he married childhood friend Chandie Yawn-Nelson in 2005. Together, they share two daughters, Charleston (born in 2006) and Liberty (born in 2010). Lawrence and Nelson divorced in 2020 after 15 years of marriage.

Lawrence married actress and costar of My Husband’s Secret Brother (2020) Samantha Cope, in 2022. The couple have collaborated on several projects, including the Tubi original Frankie Meets Jack. However, in August 2024, Cope filed for divorce, but she dismissed the divorce in October the same year after they reconciled.
