Johnathon Schaech is an American actor and writer best known for his roles in film and television dramas. Schaech was born and raised in Edgewood, Maryland, and later attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he studied economics and later took an acting class. After college, he studied acting under Roy London before starting his on-screen career.

Schaech’s breakthrough came with his role in That Thing You Do! (1996), directed by Tom Hanks, which introduced him to a wider audience. He went on to star in films such as Welcome to Woop Woop (1997), Finding Graceland (1998) and If Only You Knew (1999), building a steady career in both independent and mainstream projects.

His notable credits include The Sweetest Thing (2002), Ray Donovan, Legends of Tomorrow and Blue Ridge. In addition to acting, Schaech has worked as a screenwriter and producer, contributing to various film projects over the years.

Schaech was married to Christina Applegate from 2001 to 2007. He later married Jana Kramer in 2010, though they divorced in 2011. He went on to wed Julie Solomon in 2013, and the couple share two children: Camden (born in 2013) and Lillian (born in 2020).
