Kim Basinger

Kim Basinger is an Academy Award-winning actress and former model. Basinger was born in Athens, Georgia. She studied ballet as a child and later attended the University of Georgia, where she pursued acting before leaving school to focus on modeling full time. In 1972, she competed for the Miss Georgia title, launching her national modeling career.

She moved to New York City in the early 1970s and became one of the era’s most in-demand models before transitioning to acting. Basinger appeared in television series including McMillan & Wife before making her film breakthrough in Never Say Never Again (1983) opposite Sean Connery.
Her rise continued with leading roles in films such as 9½ Weeks (1986), Batman (1989), The Natural (1984) and L.A. Confidential (1997). Her performance in L.A. Confidential earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1998, along with a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She later appeared in 8 Mile (2002) opposite Eminem, further expanding her career into the 2000s.

Basinger married makeup artist Ron Snyder in 1980 and divorced in 1989. She was briefly linked to Prince before marrying actor Alec Baldwin in 1993, and the pair welcomed daughter Ireland Baldwin in 1995 before divorcing in 2002. In 2014, she moved on with hairstylist Mitch Stone.
