Michelle Pfeiffer is an award-winning actress known for her performances in Scarface, Batman Returns and Dangerous Liaisons. Pfeiffer attended Fountain Valley High School in Fountain Valley, California, and later studied at Golden West College, where she briefly pursued a career in court stenography before turning to acting.

Pfeiffer began her stint in acting with guest spots on shows like Fantasy Island and CHiPs before landing her first film role in 1982’s Grease 2. Her breakout came the following year opposite Al Pacino in Scarface (1983), which established her as a rising star. She went on to earn three Academy Award nominations for her work in Dangerous Liaisons (1988), The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989) and Love Field (1992), including a nomination for Best Actress. She was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her performance in The Fabulous Baker Boys.

Her notable credits include Married to the Mob (1988), Batman Returns (1992), The Age of Innocence (1993), Hairspray (2007), Dark Shadows (2012), Murder on the Orient Express (2017) and Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018).

Pfeiffer married actor Peter Horton in 1981, divorcing in 1988. She later adopted daughter Claudia Rose (born in 1993) shortly before marrying television writer and producer David E. Kelley in 1993. The couple welcomed a son, John Henry, the following year.
