Madeline Brewer

Madeline Brewer is an actress best known for her roles on Orange Is the New Black and The Handmaid’s Tale. Brewer was raised in a musical family, and she studied musical theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City before launching her career in television.

Brewer made her on screen debut in 2013 playing Tricia Miller on the first season of Orange Is the New Black. In 2016, she appeared on Netflix’s Hemlock Grove and Black Mirror before landing the role of Janine on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale the following year.

Her work on The Handmaid’s Tale earned her critical acclaim, including a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination as part of the ensemble cast. She remained a principal cast member of the show until the fourth season when she became a guest actor. She has also starred in the Netflix psychological thriller Cam (2018), the horror film The Ultimate Playlist of Noise (2021) and Space Oddity (2022).

The actress became engaged to cinematographer Jack Thompson-Roylance in 2024.
