
Margaret Cho
Margaret Cho is an American comedian, actress and musician.
Cho grew up in San Francisco, California, and started performing original standup routines as a teenager. By 1994, Cho starred as the titular character on ABC’s All-American Girl which only aired for two seasons. The sitcom was loosely based on Cho’s past comedic routines about a 20-something Korean-American dealing with a conservative, traditional family. It was the first major network sitcom to heavily feature an Asian-American family.
After All-American Girl was canceled, Cho continued performing standup. Her routines frequently champion advocacy, body positivity, LGBTQIA+ rights, feminism and racial equality.
Cho’s other acting credits include Drop Dead Diva, It’s My Party, Falling for Grace, 17 Again, Alaska Is a Drag, Good on Paper, The Flight Attendant, Fire Island and Prom Pact.
Cho has also written three books: I’m The One That I Want, PsyCHO and I Have Chosen to Stay and Fight. She also has released four albums: Drunk With Power, Cho Revolution, Cho Dependant and Lucky Gift.
Cho has been sober since 2016 after a rehab stay.
As for her personal life, Cho was married to artist Al Ridenour from 2003 to 2015.
