Ronda Rousey has become a trailblazer in women’s sports. Trained in judo by her mother, world champion AnnMaria De Mars, Rousey became the youngest judoka at the 2004 Athens Olympics and later earned a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Games, the first for an American woman in judo. She transitioned to MMA in 2010, quickly rising to fame with her signature armbar submission, becoming the UFC’s first Women’s Bantamweight Champion in 2012 and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.

In 2018, Rousey debuted in WWE, earning the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships and paying tribute to “Rowdy” Roddy Piper with her in-ring persona. She joined the final season of E! reality show Total Divas as a series regular the following year.

Beyond wrestling, she appeared in films such as The Expendables 3 (2014) and Furious 7 (2015).

Married to MMA fighter Travis Browne since 2017, the couple shares two daughters, La’akea (born 2021) and Liko’ula (born 2025).
