
RuPaul
RuPaul is a drag queen and Emmy-winning host best known for his competition series RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The entertainer, whose full name is RuPaul Andre Charles, got his start in the New York City LGBT nightclub scene. He rose to fame as a drag queen after releasing his hit song “Supermodel (You Better Work)” in 1992. As a musician, RuPaul has released 15 studio albums. RuPaul has also appeared in several film and TV projects including Crooklyn, The Brady Bunch Movie, But I’m a Cheerleader, Girlboss and Broad City.
After performing in drag for nearly a decade, his show RuPaul’s Drag Race premiered in 2009, where he serves as producer and host. The competition show has continued to take the world by storm and spawned countless spinoff series across the globe. RuPaul has won 14 Primetime Emmy Awards, including eight for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition program for Drag Race.
RuPaul has published four books and received a star on the Walk of Fame in 2018. He also won a Tony Award in 2022 as a producer for the Broadway musical A Strange Loop.
In his personal life, RuPaul has been married to longtime love Georges LeBar since 2017.
