About

Tim Tebow was born in the Philippines in 1987 while his American parents were serving as Baptist missionaries in the area. When he was 3, the family moved back to the U.S. where he was raised in Jacksonville, Florida.

Tebow played football at the University of Florida, winning a BCS Championship in 2006 while he was the backup quarterback. The next year, he was the starter and won the Heisman Trophy in 2007. The quarterback led his team to the BCS Championship in 2008 and was a three-time MVP during his time with the Gators. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023.

The athlete was drafted by the Denver Broncos during the 2010 NFL Draft. Tebow was traded to the New York Jets in 2012 and failed to make the roster for the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013 and 2015.

Tebow then tried his hand at Major League Baseball and was part of the New York Mets organization (on their minor league team) from 2016 to 2021. He returned to the NFL as a tight end in 2021 but was released after one preseason game.

In between his stints in the NFL and MLB, Tebow has been an SEC Network and ESPN contributor. He is also a co-owner of an ECHL expansion team called the Tahoe Knight Monsters in Lake Tahoe and an investor in the USL Championship and USL Super League soccer club Sporting Club Jacksonville.

Tim met wife Demi-Leigh Tebow, a former Miss Universe, in 2018. The couple tied the knot in her home country of South Africa in January 2020. Tim and Demi-Leigh announced her pregnancy with their first child in January 2025.
