Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy is an Oscar-nominated English actor and producer. Hardy is the only child of Edward “Chips” Hardy and artist Anne Barrett. He was raised in London and attended Richmond Drama School before studying at the Drama Centre London.

Hardy began his acting career in the early 2000s, making his film debut in Black Hawk Down (2001) and gaining attention with roles in Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) and the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. He built his reputation with a string of independent films and stage performances, earning critical praise for Bronson (2008), in which he played British prisoner Charles Bronson.

His breakout into mainstream fame came with his performance in Christopher Nolan’s Inception (2010), followed by major roles in Warrior (2011), The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).

Hardy later starred in Locke (2013), Legend (2015) and The Revenant (2015), which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He has also headlined the Venom franchise and appeared on television shows such as Peaky Blinders and Taboo, which he cocreated.

Hardy was previously married to producer Sarah Ward from 1999 to 2004. He married actress Charlotte Riley in 2014, and the couple share two sons. He also has a son, Louis Thomas (born in 2008), from a previous relationship with Rachael Speed.
