When The Bachelor premiered in 2002, the world met Trista Rehn, a 29-year-old Miami Heat dancer. After she came in second place during Alex Michel‘s season, Trista was named the first Bachelorette, leading the spinoff that premiered in January 2003. During her season, she met and got engaged to Ryan Sutter.

The couple married on December 6, 2003, and the wedding played out in a three-part special on ABC. In addition to The Bachelor, Trista also competed on season 1 of Dancing With the Stars but was the first eliminated. She returned to reality TV in 2024 with Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test season 3.

Trista and Ryan have two children, a son Maxwell, born in July 2007, and a daughter Blakesley, born in April 2009.
