
Zach Galifianakis
Zach Galifianakis was born October 1, 1969 in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. His paternal grandparents emigrated from Crete, Greece, and he was baptized in his father’s Greek Orthodox faith. He later attended, but did not graduate from North Carolina State University, where he studied Communication.
Galifianakis’ career began in 1996 with several small television and film role. He gained more recognition for his deadpan, stand-up material with his own episode of Comedy Central Presents in September 2001.
He has a series of videos on FunnyOrDie.com called “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis,” where her conducts interviews with celebrities located between two potted ferns. He’s interviewed Jennifer Aniston, Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Bruce Willis and many more high-profile actors and musicians.
Galifianakis costarred in 2009’s The Hangover. He reprised his role in the film’s sequel, The Hangover Part II, in 2011. Other notable roles include 2010’s It’s Kind of a Funny Story and Due Date.
