Anna Marie Tendler

Annamarie Tendler, known professionally as Anna Marie Tendler, was born in Connecticut and went on to study hairstyling after graduating high school. She briefly attended Parsons School of Design in New York City before dropping out and later receiving degrees in writing and psychology from The New School.

In 2018, she began working toward an M.A. in costume studies at New York University. The Silk Parlor founder is known for her handmade Victorian lampshades.

As a makeup artist and hairstylist, Tendler worked on Broadway’s Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet and on comedy specials including The Old Man and the Seymour and CollegeHumor Originals. Tendler also collaborated with then-husband John Mulaney on his shows New in Town, The Comeback Kid, Oh, Hello and John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch.

Fans fell in love with the former couple’s relationship, which Mulaney often joked about on stage. Tendler also made an appearance during a 2018 episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, in which she criticized Mulaney’s taste in rugs.

The duo tied the knot in June 2014 and announced their separation in May 2021. Us reported that same month that the comedian moved on with Olivia Munn, who welcomed their first child in November 2021.

Us confirmed in January 2022 that Tendler and Mulaney finalized their divorce.
