Calista Flockhart

Calista Flockhart is an American actress best known for leading the Fox legal dramedy Ally McBeal. Flockhart was born in Freeport, Illinois, and she went on to attend Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts. She graduated in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in theater.

Flockhart began her career on stage and made early TV appearances on shows like Guiding Light and Lifestories: Families in Crisis. Her breakthrough came in 1997 when she was cast as the titular role on Ally McBeal, a role that made her a household name and earned her the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.

She later starred in The Birdcage (1996), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (1999) and Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her (2000). From 2006 to 2011, she played Sally Field’s daughter Kitty Walker on the ABC drama Brothers & Sisters. In 2023, she returned to TV on Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, and she later had a recurring role on Supergirl as Cat Grant.

Flockhart began dating Harrison Ford in 2002 after meeting at the Golden Globe Awards. The couple became engaged in 2009 and married in 2010. She adopted her son, Liam (born in 2001), shortly before meeting Ford, who later adopted him as well.
