Dean Cain
Dean Cain is an actor best known for portraying Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman, on the ABC series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
Cain was adopted by his stepfather Christopher Cain after his mother married the film director in 1969. He grew up in Malibu, California, and attended Santa Monica High School. Cain went on to play football at Princeton University, graduating in 1988 with a degree in history.
After a stint with the NFL’s Buffalo Bills was cut short by a knee injury, Cain turned to acting. He appeared in commercials and had guest roles on series such as Beverly Hills, 90210 and A Different World before landing his breakout role in 1993 on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, which ran for four seasons.
Following the series, Cain starred in films including The Broken Hearts Club (2000), Out of Time (2003) and God’s Not Dead (2014). He has made numerous television appearances, including hosting Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and roles on Hit the Floor, Supergirl and The Platform.
Cain has been romantically involved with Brooke Shields and Gabrielle Reece, and was briefly engaged to Mindy McCready. He shares one son, Christopher (born in 2000), with former girlfriend Samantha Torres.
